Hey Everyone! I’m Mikaela South welcome back to my channel I hope you liked my video last week I put together some tips and tricks on how
to calm your mind & de-stress your body, so make sure you check that out Today, I’m talking about Skincare I always change-up my skincare routine in
the winter I’m very affected by the environment, so when
it gets cold outside my skin gets dried and dehydrated very quickly. and then you add on all the holiday parties,
extra sugar… maybe alcohol 🙂 It just all takes a toll on my skin So I want to share with you some of the products
I incorporate into my routine this time of year These are my Can’t live withouts, this is
not an extensive skincare routine, this are my must haves First lets talk about serums. Serums go on before moisturizer, they go on
before oil. If you use oil. and there’s 2 that I absolutely
LOVE. The First one, I use Eve Lom I really love the brand. If you follow me anywhere online you’ve heard
me talking about the cleanser. This hydration serum is spectacular. I LOVE this SERUM. It’s a clear liquid it’s non-greasy. It soaks into my skin right away, that’s why
I prefer to use this in the morning, because it just works beautifully underneath makeup. And as you see, I’m going to put a little
bit onto my skin and you just kind of pat it in and it drenches my skin. When my skin is screaming for moisture, I
put this on and I just feel like a surge of moisture coming onto my skin. It sinks in and plumps up my skin cells. It has SODIUM HYALURONATE so it’s really good
with taming moisture, so by the end of the day my skin is not super dry. I love this one. The other serum that I use and I don’t use
these necessarily together, it just kind of depends on the day. If I wake up and my skin is feeling dry and
is super dull looking and I feel tired, then I go for Caudalie vinoperfect radiance serum. This is sort of my Holy Grail product. I’ve had this in my bathroom, not this one,
I’ve had lots of these but I’ve probably been using this for 6 years. and… ughhhhhjust the smell of
it! I love the smell of it! ughhhh! I just love it! It’s oil free. You put a few drops of this onto your skin. You pat it in. Underneath any moisturizer or oil if you use
it. and it just gives my skin radiance. I feel like I want to use this, like my skin
has had a full nights rest. I feel radiant, my skin is glowing. It kind of brightens and lightens the skin. So I kind of switch off. Those are the serums that I add in the winter. Now. When my skin gets really dry, I use an oil
and I use different oils throughout the year for different reasons. This one here from Sunday Riley, the JUNO
oil. I love it this time of year! It’s a little bit heavier. It’s loaded, it’s like going to a farmer’s
market with this one. It’s got everything in here like blackberry
seed, raasberry seed, broccoli seed. It’s like, it is a super food serum for your
skin. And cold pressed to remain all those great
benefits to this oil. And oils, I know some people are still nervous
about wearing oils, but oils really are nourishing for your skin. It also has omega oils, 3, 6, and 9. Which are excellent for the skin to nourish
and hydrate. I mean, oh my goodness! Already my hand is so smooth and soft and
supple. If you’re feeling extra parched, I like to
use this oil at night. Put a few drops of this onto my skin and kind
of press it in before I go to bed. I wake up with the most gorgeous, radiant
skin. Smooth, nice and hydrated. This is one of my absolute favorites. It’s becoming a cult skincare product and
I totally see why. It is a little more expensive. I dont need very much of this. This bottle will last me for a very long time. I always go to it when I feel like I need
some extra hydration. Moisturizer. I use different moisturizers for Day and Night. Something that I have been loving right now
for both, to be honest, for day & night, is this one from Tata Harper. This is the Repairative Moisturizer for Dry
Skin. I recently discovered this. I had tried Tata’s products a few years ago
and I couldn’t really find anything from the range that was working for me. I don’t know if my skin has changed or what’s
going on, but I recently tried this and I REALLY love it. Now her brand is up there with the prestige
natural, organic skincare brands and it does what it says. It hydrates my skin. It works really well. I am totally in love with it. I can’t wait to keep using it. This is a new one that I’ve added into my
routine this year. So, those are moisturizers. Now I’m going to move on to some other skincare
items that are “nice to haves” These are things that you can add to your
routine that make a huge, HUGE difference and that’s Facemasks, Special Lip Balm and
Eye Makeup Remover. So, first, I want to talk about Facemasks
and that’s the Cat Burki B Vitamin Vital Hydration Face Mask. This is a sample size. I fell in love with this and plan on buying
the full size when this runs out. It’s one of those instantaneous love for product. I absolutely love this. It’s loaded with B vitamins for your skin. The facemask is really nice because you can
leave it on for 15 to 20 mins and unlike those sheet masks I know those are really popular. This is like more of a cream, so you want
to blend this onto your skin and leave it on for 15 to 20 mins, maybe tissue it off. This one, I just love the benefits of this
so much. It has Arnica, chamomile, lavender, evening
primrose, rosehip oil. So nourishing and hydrating. It didnt make my skin breakout. I leave this on all night. So it’s kind of like a sleeping mask. I put this on before I go to bed. and sleep with it on. When I wake up, I just notice instantaneously,
my skin is smoother, softer to the touch. and I love the way it makes my skin look throughout
the day when I put on makeup. So, let’s talk about makeup for a second. If your skin is dry and dehydrated, it doesnt
matter what makeup you put on. It’s going to instantly suck all of that makeup
into your skin. It’s going to be like, just wanting to pull
it all back like a sponge. Trying to grab onto any water or moisturizer
that these products have. What happens, you’re left with really cakey,
you know your makeup is visible, it’s kind of patchy. We want to avoid that [unintelligible]. Now this is a new brand LXMI. This I recently discovered. I am so excited about this brand, not only
are they doing incredible things in the world. In Uganda and Africa for the women who help
make this product. I’m using this as a nighttime mask. Now with LXMI this is a very high end 100%
organic shea butter. Shea is very good conditioning the skin. Almost for me, I like to use this as like
a seal. So this is going to be my all-over intensive
moisturizer. I can sleep with it on. This you would want to use in the winter time
if you’re going skiing or you’re in a windy condition. You put this on to protect your skin. It’s a sealant. I like to use. you can put it anywhere it is 100% organic
you can put it on your lips, your elbows. You can use it on your body. Anywhere where you feel dry and it’s just
a beautiful product. Super excited to support this brand. I am going to be working with them a little
bit more. Check that out. Check out their Facebook page. We’re doing a Facebook live very soon. OK, final things I want to chat about for
Winter skin are your Lips. My lips are continuously dry. I feel like they always get chapped. They’re always dry. There is nothing worse than wearing lipstick
and rubbing your lips together and just feeling that dry parched lip. It’s just… UGH. You know what I’m talking about. So, this By Terry lip gloss in a tube I LOVE! This is super buttery and smooth. It smells delicious, like roses, and it just
does the job. I love that it’s in a tube and I don’t have
to like dig my finger in anything. Easy. Done. Boom. Eye Make-UP Remover. I know a lot of you use liquid eye-makeup
removers. My eyes get really dry in the winter. My eye lashes, just everything. This is the FRESH Soy Conditioning Eye Make-Up
Remover and it’s a creamy It tends to work fine for me even though I
have on eyelash extensions. It even takes off waterproof eye makeup, which
I really love. Last, but not least, is a facial spray. This facial spray right here from REN… Can we just have a minute?Ooooh. I can’t. REN I don’t know what you’ve put in this product! OHHHHHHHH! IT SMELLS SOOOO GOOOD!!! I’m obsessed. This, I don’t think I’ve ever fell in love
with a product so fast. I’m very triggered by sent, so I know that’s
part of the reason. It smells beautiful and I’ve been trying to
figure out what they put in this. They don’t tell you on their website [HA,HA] Ahhhhhh! It smells beautiful. It’s the Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist. This you can use during the day to hydrate
your skin. Protect it from environmental pollutants and
I also like to give my skin a few little (spritz, spritz, spritz) Right before I put on makeup and start the
whole process with skincare as well. It just adds a little extra moisturization. It feels amazing. I’m definitely going to be bringing this on
plan flights with me when I travel. Just tuck it away in my little bag, do a little
touch-up during the day when I’m feeling dry. That concludes my, my, I guess this is seemingly
a very large skincare routine for winter – and this isn’t even everything. But I wanted to show you some of the things
I am using for this time of year to keep my skin nice and hydrated. These are some of the things that I use and
I hope that they’re helpful for you too. I definitely have an order that I like to
put on my skincare products. and by the way, i don’t always put all of
these products on all of the time. These are the essentials and I pick and choose
depending on how my skin is that day. But in general I like to put serums on before
oils. oils before moisturizer. and the final step
is SPF. I do that sequence before putting on makeup. These are my winter skincare essentials. I post new videos every single Tuesday. Please let me know if you have any questions
below. I’ll see you soon! [Music playing…]
