HIV Among African Americans

HIV Among African Americans

January 15, 2020 7 By Jose Scott

>>African Americans continue to bear the greatest
burden of HIV in the nation. It is the black woman
in her 30’s and 40’s for whom HIV is a
leading cause of death. It is our young black men, many of whom will become
infected before they see their 25th birthday. And it is young gay and
bisexual brothers who continue to be especially hard hit by HIV with new infections
rising sharply. We cannot afford to
lose a new generation to this preventable infection. On this National Black HIV
AIDS Awareness Day it’s time to get educated about HIV. Get tested for HIV. Get treated if needed. And get involved in
the fight against HIV. Our lives depend on it.
