CHASE RAW // VLOG #33 // DEHYDRATING BANANAS AND UPCOMING TRIP!

Yo, it me. A vlog, alone because why not? I am a busy bee today so I — and now it’s getting dark, a super nice day, I’m not outside at all, I’m just inside — what am I doing? Well, if you have watched some of my videos recently, I kinda talked about, um, how I’m going on a cross… a trip across Canada I’m driving across Canada. I will be stopping in some major cities, but not all of them honestly because I’m going to Vancouver to pick someone up And then bring them back, um, and this is more of like a camping explore Canada type of trip So I’m gonna be gone for a long time, so what am I doing? Why is there so much noise? Well, let me put on the light for ya So, I got myself a dehydrator, okay. And the reason why is because I feel like I get a lot of stuff and then I don’t eat them because, um They expire quickly So, I decided to get myself a dehydrator. I am currently dehydrating, um, fruit for snacks and stuff Because I’m still training for a marathon and even though I’m leaving for three weeks I’m gonna drag the people that I am driving with and stop them for like two hours like every time I have to run And be like “hey, I’m gonna go run now so, be right back” Um, but I still need to eat healthy, so I’m planning all the meals for all of us. We are three people, um, so in total it’s about… It’s like two of us for five days and then for, like, the rest of the days it’s three So I have to plan 147 — so 150 meals Um, breakfast isn’t gonna count right now because that’s the dealing, so I’m doing lunch and dinner I am doing five different meals that I’m gonna be dehydrating and then we can mix them up during, like, lunch and dinner and stuff like that So, these are for snacks over here. These are banana chips and then I have some more down there that are just, um, I took them out of the dehydrator already I’m just making sure that they’re, um, not warm anymore because then, um — I’m sorry it’s just so good. It’s so bad, I should stop eating that. And you put them in a jar for seven days — seven to ten days — um, and every day you just shake them to make sure there’s no condensation or anything like that If there is, you put it back in the dehydrator Now what’s in this right now? Well, let’s have a look I’m currently dehydrating mango! Mango takes a lot longer than banana Um, can I just tell you that that mango’s been there since — what time is it? — since 11pm. I think it’s like 1 right now It’s almost 1pm It takes a while, you know. It’s like 12 hours. 12 to — oh my god, it’s way longer than that Whatever, they’re almost done. I just wanna make sure that they’re good ’cause I don’t want them to be moist or anything So, what am I doing? Right now I’m working on the first meal and I feel like I should, like — I’m gonna vlog this because I kinda wanted to make a whole video about it But I’m like, I don’t feel like bringing out my camera and my lights and stuff like that so I decided I’m just gonna do it So right now I’m making a stew which I will show more of So, this is the first meal. Um, the second meal is gonna be pasta. It’s very easy, I just — I didn’t feel like making myself pasta sauce So I got normal pasta sauce here which you dehydrate and then you crunch up and then… It’s gonna be — It’s gonna be fun and I’ll bring you up on this ride, so this is just the first meal right now and I’ll show you more of the progress as we go I put some onions in there, some garlic, and some green peppers. I’m currently about to chop some carrots and then I have a bunch of beans Uh, chick peas, corn, and peas to put in there, and, of course, diced tomatoes because ‘kay, I know the canned thing — look, I have black beans here that are not from a can, okay? But I just — It was just easier to do ’cause I had to do this — anyways, okay, let’s move on Hi, so I put everything in. I know it’s packed. It’s very long, it’s big, it’s big, okay? Look, listen to me, listen toots This has to be 20 meals. I think it’ll be a little bit more than that, but that’s fine It is time to turn of the dehydrator and to let this air out, because I have been dehydrating this for too long and I feel like it’s — I feel like they’re okay. They’re, they’re supposed to feel leathery and like this definitely feels [sniffs] leathery But like I don’t know if they’re ready or not, like I don’t — see, like, I need a fruit dehydrating expert Like, it’s okay if they’re a little bit mushy, right? Like, ’cause there’s just not supposed to be moisture. I just need this to last like… 20 days I feel like it needs to be dehydrated more Listen, I’ll put this video up, and if there’s someone who’s like a pro [chewing] At dehydrating fruit, let me know what to do and then I’ll do the next batch the way you’re telling me to do it ‘Cause I feel like they do need to be dehydrated more because… I don’t know, I feel like they’re just a little bit — Also, I — today is like a cooking day for Chase. Do you see my sweat? I have to take a shower Oh, no I’m going to do — I’m going to run hills tonight with the run club So, what do I got? What do I got? What do I got? I got a bunch of beans in there. It looks like there’s a lot of corn but the person — look, listen ‘kay, I go to individual needs I can’t wait till this — till I show you what this looks like after and then tonight when I start dehydrating it Because storage and stuff like that — so I’m gonna put this up because I’m done But it’s lunch time and what have I been cooking for myself in here? I made myself some roasted cauliflower with some fake chicken And then I have a little bit of peas and some rice on the side. Mmm, it is a good day today It’s a good day. Right, Minou? He was just — Oh my god it’s so much cooler in here [singing high note] I’ll let you know how it finishes up. What it looks like when it’s done, which — it takes a couple of hours, okay? It’s a big pot, there’s a lot of stuff in it you know, you want it to evenly cook and stuff like that It needs to look good. Anyways, I’m kind of all over the place but you love me and I’m very excited to make this food and take you on my journey with me Love you It’s done. I mean, it’s not– I’m not dehydrating it. I have to go for a run. I’m going — doing the hills with the run club And then tonight I’m gonna dehydrate it in this beautiful machine here But I just wanted to show you what it looks like So I think I put too much tomato in it because it smells like cigarettes I know that sounds weird, but I have this weird association with tomatoes and cigarettes because of this fucking Simpsons episode T-T-Tomasco? What am I…? There’s a word I’m looking for. I don’t remember what it was called. Tomato and tobacco together Anyways, so this is the, the, the end here Um, this will stay here for a long time [laughing] And then tonight I just want it to kinda simmer in the spices and then — ish, there’s not that many spices And then tonight I’m gonna put it in this bad boy and dehydrate the shit out of that And uh, yeah, I’m excited We’ll see how it goes. Um, I’m gonna leave this blog — I’m gonna put it up now because I might not even dehydrate this tonight I might do it tomorrow, so there’s no point in waiting, I want to post this blog now up anyways But thank you for joining me. I’m really bored today. I feel like I’ve been doing so much lately every day And, um, today — I have a bunch of videos that I’ve already filmed but I don’t want to post them up yet Like I said, I’m leaving for three weeks. All of my videos need to be done before I leave So I wanted to make sure that I had some on reserve, just in case Like, to make — in case I don’t have enough time the next ten days to make the videos before But just letting you know, trigger alert: they’re all — three of them are like reviews So you’re gonna get a lot of reviews in the month of August [laughing] Um, which I think is good because they’re reviews that I should have been posting, like, over four months ago But they’re here. I filmed them recently so, um, I think you’ll enjoy those But seriously, I’m sorry that today there isn’t, like, a real video, and it’s just a vlog But trust me, it’ll be worth it in August that you actually get videos instead of me just like not being able to post Because I’m going to be on the road I’m still gonna make vlogs though, when I’m on the — [funny voice] I’m gonna make the vlogs when I’m on the road [teeth clicking] Oh I have stuff in my teeth. What?
